Someone Like You - Holly's version

Hi everyone - here's my latest video - a cover of Adele's 'Someone Like You'...

I hope you are well - I'll write a proper blog post soon.

Take care,

Lots of loves xoxoxox

Thank you for a very fine performance of this song. I must confess whilst I'm impressed by Adele's songs and her success, personally I don't particularly like the tone of her voice, so this version with your clearer voice (sweeter/purer not quite best terms) is a delight

Beautifully done, Holly. Powerful. :)

Lovely version.
David ~ I think Adele's voice is a result of her tobacco addiction. If she keeps it up she'll sound like a fog horn in 20 years time.

Sehr gut gelungene Version, kann sie stundenlang immer wieder hören, ohne dass es mir zuviel wird.
Yes, the voice of Holly is much better than Adele's. Sinead O'Connor ruined her voice by chain smoking. I love many of her songs, but I can't listen to her singing anymore.

I agree about Adele. I was only speculating about the smoking thing, but it seems others agree! That's a novel experience:)

Now to this much better version from Holly. I love your emotion here Holly. I realize it's real, and all the more poignant as a result. Your timing is perfect and you really nail in the last two choruses.

I also think you're more 'accessible' when you use a less precise English diction. This one definitely has that edge I'm always going on about. I love it.

Holly, my heart is breaking for you. I wish I could come over there and wipe your tears away. Take heart that someday, God will wipe them if you so choose.

Revelation 21:4

King James Version (KJV)

4And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

Larry you are so lovely :-)

You're getting there Holly, still plenty of feeling but I sense less pain.
Never heard this song before, nor heard of Adele come to that, but I much prefer the way you sing it. (Well, I suppose I would anyway! hahaha)

The next cover I would like to hear you sing is "Over you now" by Kate Rusby ;)

Hugs and rainbows

I was going to ask what kd lang had twittered you, but then realised I just needed to view from her account: "I think it's great. I love your narrative read on the lyrics!!! Good job."

kd lang might be "my vocal hero" to you, but the rest of us do not even presume to aspire to that goddess of lyrical interpretation and emotional performance... definitely an opinion to value and treasure :-)

PS next step is to get her to offer to duet with you... LOL
