The final five! :)

Hello everyone! :D

Yesterday I spent all day fiddling around with album artwork - well - the front cover. These are the best ones. :) - I tried to edit the photos that I showed you on here, but I couldn't get the fonts to work with them. :( So here's what I've come up with for the front cover...

Please feel free to vote again like you did before...I will definitely be using one of these. :)

1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
There we go. :) When we've decided on the cover I'll get to work on the booklet/tray art. :)

Thankyou very much. :)

Wow! What a decision! Going with my very first impression, I would pick #1 and #2. No specific reasons, just the impression. A bit later, I may be able to offer more on my feelings in depth. Number 4 also had a significant impact. But, 1 and 2 hit me harder, lol! Nice work!

Second look: I like #2 best. But take this with several grains of salt for I have zero artistic ability. Mysterious, enigmatic, haunting, lovely.

I'll have to agree. I like the look of numbers one and two. Number two stands out a bit more to me.

#4
The ones with this photohopped circle are... too much photohop :D

No 5 for me, a bit like the mona lisa.

I think you should do CDs with all 5 photos then people would have to buy them all to get the complete set and your sales would be fivefold. lol. Actually #4 and #5 (actually the same photo) are my favourites because you are making eye contact with the viewer. Of those two I think I prefer #4 because the album title stands out a bit more in black under your name than the one in white along the bottom of picture #5. If you don’t use #4 then you can probably sell the picture to Head and Shoulders because the hair is glossy and the coat is spotless. lol.

I like 4 and 5 and Andy likes 4 best, but liked 5 too. Brooke liked No 4 best.

My son and I made a decision:

4. Spricht uns am meisten an, die Qualität des Fotos ist exzellent und der Trenchcoat lässt Dich wie eine Agentin aussehen. Dein Gesicht kommt auch sehr sympathisch rüber.

My favourites are 1 or 4 - if I had to choose, then possibly 4 would just edge it.

I agree with Uncle Tim ~ 1 and 4 are my faves with 4 just edging away ;)

I like 1 a lot, however Alfred Hitchcock is creeping me out a little.

3 is a excellent picture however too much shadow if you could bring it up to the sharpness of number 4 I would pick this one.

4 Is my favourite of what you posted. its composition and sharpness speaks out.

You can use the photo 7 (cat) for the back page. it shows the fun side that I have seen in some videos.

no 4 - always loved 4 - I went for 4 and 5 as my choices, like others I prefer Holly in no 1 but the shadow is too freaky - sorry

So if were not for the shadow, I would say no 1

but my choice is no 4 first and no 5 as second choice.

I was actually hoping you were going to go for the bright blue door and the red beret - I loved the vibrant primary colours because you don't often see them on a cd cover these days and thought the blue was amazing.

back to bed for this sick chick

oh and David agreed with my picks, he also liked the first but not the shadow. So 4 or 5 he said. But agreed on no 4

love Susan and Spoggy

You look lovely on all the covers, but my favourite has to be number 5. It is just you looking at me :D No distracting special effects, strange shadows, random bits of distracting background, or chubby cheeked look. It's 5 for me.

I like 5 the best. You have a real confident look which I think suits the title. The word placings seem to fit best. I like the fact that it appears that you are just around a corner or a door. Outside, but just about hidden - A woman you don't know.

But they are all good and I think you have a good choice which ever one you decide upon. I am looking very much forward to it's release :o)

Absolutely #1

I asked a designer friend for an opinion and he went for 4. Comments were - 5 comes across as intimidating, and in the others the areas of black and the fading take your eyes away from the photo.

My favourite is still just about #4, but I do actually wonder what #1 would look like (better or worse) without the circle effect.

I would go for number 4. I agree that some of the others would benefit from loosing the circle effect. But to me 4 has the most pleasing composition and facial expression

I just noticed it's 25 days since you uploaded a song onto YT. Us Holly addicts will be getting the shakes soon if we don't get a fix. Fortunately since it's Burns Night the craving was mollified by a nice glass of malt.

As an addiction counselor I recommend:
A warm bath, long walks through the countryside, lecture of Nietzsche or Dante, staying away from anything related to the object of addiction (Pictures, songs, poems etc.)

Not recommended: Chewing fingernails, banging the head against the wall or other ways of auto-aggressive behaviour, any drugs(shift of addiction!!!).

I will start an emergency website called: www.hollykirbyaddictsintrouble.net

with tips and tricks regarding to this serious item and a virtual support group.

Hang on!
Haltet durch!

wg ~ lol. Lecture on Nietzsche or Dante should do the trick. I guess massive torpor would follow and the addiction would be totally forgotten, as would the will to live.

addiction=choice

xenonrush said...

Addiction may be choice but that knowledge doesn't help with the severe trauma that cessation causes. Whereas Nietzsche or Dante.....

Larry said...

Very true. But that is another matter. Dues must always be paid.

wolfgang said...

xenonrush I love Nietzsche and Larry loves Dante. The problem is, that none of them could substitute Holly on the long run. But it will work for a while.
Also sprach wolfgang.

Interesting summary of Nietzsches thinking:

I must say no: 3!
Loved all of them though;)

wg ~ Thanks for the YT link but I am afraid taht my German doesn't extend to 10 minutes on Nietzsche's thinking. I can do beer, food, lodging and what's the shortest route to the bahnhof. Or at least I could ten years ago which was my last visit.

Was looking at this link in my quest for greater knowledge and was amused that Dante is wearing drag in the first photo. Maybe Italian men’s fashion was like that even in those days.
