Bits 'n' Bobs

Hello,

I thought I'd better do a little catch up post as I haven't posted in a while. I think I've got a few photos I can show you and stuff. I haven't been around a lot lately because I've been having a huuuuge clear out of my room. I haven't done so since I was about ten!...so it was rather huge. But now that's pretty much done and I'm practising for a 2 hour gig that's coming up on Wednesday (aaaaaah! lol).

Anyway - the disco on Friday was good fun. I went as a mixture of Debbie Harry, Kim Wilde and Holly! lol...

Donna requested Mr. Brightside by the Killers and even though I've performed it before I couldn't remember all of the words so thought it best to use the lyric sheet...but then realised I didn't have a music stand...or did I?...

Thanks Brooke! lol. She introduced me too, she was so good. She's such a little actress. :)

Oh I've got a pic of Violet...

She likes to watch the Moto GP with Dad - Dad's a huge Valentino Rossi fan, so he was pretty pleased at this pic! lol...

I'd better go and get practising now...I'm still in my jim jams! lol

TTFN xxxxx

Ahhh, isn't Brooke sweet, lol. That is a cool mixture that you 'went as' but the best part was the 'Holly' part, of course, lol. You look great.

Violet looks cool too. Getting big! [I bet the garden is as well :)] Now that is what I call a 'real TV!' Awesome! :)

Knock 'em out on Wednesday!

Watch out for H's announcements on Website for confirmation...fingers crossed :)
I hope you and yours are all good ;)

Mum, check out my little Tweetys! They are getting big as well - eight days old today!

While Debbie is artificial, Amanda Lepore is hyperartificial in "Sunglasses at night", not so far from the anorectic face of Karen Carpenter in "This masquerade", not so far from Michael Jackson. "Wachsfigurenhaft" und "├╝bertrieben", seltsam leblos und doch faszinierend.

Wow! Your hair is getting so long! Something was striking me different or something but, I just now realized what it was, lol. It looks really great!

Things do have a way of growing...

The gardens, the Tweetys, the Violets, the Hollys and the philosophical silliness, lol.

Just cannot wait for the blogtv tomorrow!

Something for Holly and all, who are interested in the future of this world and eventually in organisation psychology and system theory:http://www.freiewelt.net/nachricht-1480/dramatischer-werteverfall---interview-mit-peter-kruse.html. It's about the change of values in society. For me it is of great worth , because the group of Peter Kruse developed an instrument, called "nextpertizer", which is able to measure the unconscious emotional preferences of men. On the website of "nextpractice" you can read some essentials in English. For David and Larry the mathematical background of "nextpertizer" may be of some interest. The interview is not translated, so you have to cope with German.

Thanks, Wolfgang. "Unconscious emotional preferences..."? Well, at this stage of life, I am only concerned about the *conscious* ones, lol.

Wolfgang said...

Most of our preferences are unconscious, Larry! I could only give rationalisations, why I like Holly Kirby and why I do not like black tomatoes and why I like insects and do not like Irish sausages. If I say "I like dogs." and you see me change to the other side of the street if a poodle is running down the sidewalk in my direction. You would not believe me. That's the problem with usual
questionnaires.
And Larry, what is about your stage of life? ;-)

Wolfgang said...

Wow, it's even better!!! Poetry for instance always bundles conscious and unconscious parts together. If we look at the poems of Holly or the poems of anyone else, it has to be possible to extract a value system of a certain person and make it comparable to the value system of someone else. Each poem is offering elements in this value space. Together they form a pattern. How do we achieve that the poems are not "Greek", Larry? Or that they are not interpreted in a "false" way, Holly? It must be possible to adapt the "nextpertizer" system for analyzing poems or lyrics and get the unconscious emotional preferences. Then we will be able to understand each other in a far deeper way than before. Doubts?;-)

Sorry, the right name of the tool is "nextexpertizer".

It seems that you have a very analytical mind, WG. My stage? I am over being analytical, lol. Now that I am in my 60s, what does it matter? Time to relax and go with the flow now. :)

Einstein once said: "A perfection of means, and confusion of aims, seems to be our main problem."

But my favorite of his quotes is: "Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."

We are not so far from each other. In my job, prevention of addiction, I am at the point, where I could see clearly, that we do things over and over and get very small results. We are not speaking to the hearts of our kids. We do not even try. We try to make concepts and projects and sell them.
A change in my mind came after a young man burned himself in front of a petrol station in December 2007 in Amberg. He was not a real friend of mine, but I had several good talks with him.
At first I did not recognize that I was in a process of change.I think, the death of the young man was like a message to me, a duty. "Burn, but stay alive!" Then I stumbled into a song on youtube: "Troy" sung by Sinead O,Connor at the Pinkpop Festival 1988. It hit me hard.
From now on, I became more vulnerable and simultaniously more interested in arts. I began writing poems, reading novels, listening to music. The process of change is still on.
Larry, what are your aims? I hear resignation in your words. Am I wrong?
I'm still in search. But I do not want doing things anymore, that seem senseless to me.

WG, I feel that this is not the proper place for continuing this discussion. If you like, you may email me at cozmova1@aim.com.

O.K..Holly did a great job, despite mother nature was interfering. I hope she could come to Nuremberg some day. We will have a big music event called "Bardentreffen" from friday to sunday. Look at the website http://www.bardentreffen.de/. I will be there with an old friend.

Holly, Daoiri Farrell will be one of my favourites on this festival. To Ireland I'll be away.
